"THE THREE HEADED MONSTER!" - Bergeron
"Your goal is to become a three headed monster. Top athletes in this sport have Strength, Skills and Conditioning. Your goal is to be feeding (improving) all three heads at the same time – every month, every week, every day. If you have a serious weakness in one (one head is smaller than the other two), feed it more till its as big as the others." - Bergeron
Skills separate the crowd. It is possible for weaker athletes to defeat stronger athletes in CrossFit because they are more skilled. You have to be skilled not just in the difficult gymnastic movements and olympic lifts, but also in the mundane like burpees. The elite are skilled in all movement, which leads to efficiency in any situation.
You have to be strong. We will push, pull and squat heavy often. CrossFitters have gotten stronger every year. The 1RM has been tested in the Open. It is now common for a Games Athlete's Olympic total to be good enough for nationals. You don't have to be the strongest, but it helps.
CrossFit is a test a of work capacity first. Whoever can move large loads over long distances the fastest will win. Our programming will focus hard on developing a killer engine.
